Who are we? We are…
- Dads of all shapes and sizes. Biological, adoptive, step-dads, foster dads, co-parents, or chosen dads.
- Not a gender based community. All identities are welcome, this includes all pronouns, ages, ethnicities & race (even those with multiple identities) and lived experiences.
- If this is an issue for you please let us know ahead of time.
- Dedicated to personal growth in the presence of other Dads.
- Sharers, support seekers, listeners and really awesome humans.
- Re-defining what it means to be a Dad.
What do we do? We…
- Meet for 1.5-2 hours every other week via Zoom for 6 months (12/2024 - 6/2025)
- Do short check-ins, meditation, long check-ins, and goal setting/supporting
- Practice connecting our body, mind, and heart
- Sometimes host additional recurring and/or one-off hosted events: virtually or in-person.
- It could sound like:
- Our Bi-Annual (summer/winter) Lake Tahoe outing.
- Annual Russian River kayak day.
- A spontaneous water park take over.
- Camping 🏕️, fire circles, bbqing 🍗 🥦, fort making, volunteering and whatever we want
Why do we do it? We do it because..
- Being in community with other men is healthy. Dads from different generations, backgrounds, and cultures have unique perspectives, knowledge, and experiences which we can learn from.
- Practicing vulnerability is healthy. Being seen (especially in vulnerable moments) by others can help us see ourselves more clearly.
- Being a Dad can be confronting and even isolating at times.
- Reliable and accessible communities are healthy. Sometimes we don’t know how to grapple with challenges that life throws our way. A consistent support system can help us navigate and effectively grow from those challenges.
- The definition of what a Dad was, is, and/or should be has never been static. It’s up to each and every one of us to explore and re-define our own identity as a Dad for ourselves and our loved ones.
